When Kim Breedlove began playing the mandolin, he could not help but ponder innovative designs for maximizing the tonal balance and unique mandolin sound and making it easier for a guitarist to play. The result is the collection of Breedlove Crossover Mandolins. Crafted from all solid woods: Sitka spruce tops and maple backs. The wider nut width (1-3/16”) and radius fretboard facilitate players moving back-and-forth among instruments. We are pleased to now offer the full complement of "O", “K” and “F” body shapes in both “O” and “F” sound holes. Kim Breedlove’s “F” body which brings the full volume and dynamic tone we would expect from a Breedlove mandolin while our “O” bodies create that direct response and articulation from a smaller body. For summer 2016 we now are able to offer the extremely balanced “K” body shape which allows the player access to those attributes that make our “O” and “F” body mandolins so popular.

The OM7 is used by professional sound companies, front of house and mixing engineers as well as high profile fixed installations. The OM7 provides unprecedented gain before feedback on concert level stages without sacrificing sound quality. In addition, the mic is very resistant to feedback on extremely loud stages and for performers who tend to “cup” the microphone with both hands.
In order to achieve these extraordinary performance benefits, the OM7 is designed with an unconventionally low output level (8-10 dB lower than typical dynamic microphones). This low output level acts as a natural “pad” at the capsule in order to maintain high fidelity at the source. The OM7 is best suited for use with high quality mixing consoles which have plenty of head room to compensate for the low gain.
