The Drop Top Classic, with its showstopping quilted maple top and satin Mocha Surf finish, puts a modern spin on a traditional, time-honored shape and would please any classic connoisseur. Introduce that comfy and smooth forearm contour, and you've got all the rich tonality the Drop Top is renowned for with an effortless play.
The alder body lends itself perfectly to a beautifully vintage tone, with a thick and full low midrange to a sparkly clean and clear upper midrange. The caramel maple neck is what Anderson calls its Happy Medium shape, for a slim to medium feel - .825 at the 1st fret to .915 at the 12th. As is standard for all Tom Anderson fingerboards, the radius is 12"-14". The satin natural neck back is velvety and comfortable, while the stainless steel jumbo frets make any and all articulation a breeze.
Deliberately appointed with Anderson's own SC1's at the neck and middle and an HC2 humbucker at the bridge, this machine was built for vintage flavor - from its beefy mids to its musical and lucid highlights. The five-way switch will drop you into any tone amidst that bouquet effortlessly.
Locking tuners and a Buzz Feiten tuning system ensure only the absolute best measures of intonation.
It sounds every single bit as cool as it looks... and that's no understatement. Thanks, Tom!
