Dirty Haggard Audio Torsion Fuzz

The Torsion Fuzz, a fully original design using 3 gain stages, noise gate, and optimized tone controls, is a  monstrous general-purpose fuzz with enough tonal options to cut through a dense mix in any style of rock or metal you happen to play.  Built with three goals in mind: to sound terribly badass, to provide minimal noise/hum/buzz, and to last for decades. The Torsion fuzz is a secret weapon on stage or in the studio.

Product Features

  • Noise Gate

Linear-taper potentiometer which smoothly ramps up from no gating, to optimal gating,

to overly-gated/sputtery awesomeness. This knob tells hum and buzz to go fuck itself!

  • Power supply filtering

For those who choose to leave the gate disengaged, do not fear. The Torsion Fuzz has an

aggressive low-pass filter at the power-supply input to virtually eliminate the 120Hz

ripple frequency caused by old or cheap DC adapters.

  • Radio Frequency Rejection

Ever hear a radio station playing through your amp or another piece of audio gear? Annoying, right? The Torsion Fuzz has a 2-stage RF rejection filter at the input to ruthlessly murderany and all radio frequencies tyring to mix (or heterodyne, for those who like technical terms) down into your signal.

  • Tilt and Midrange controls

Most fuzz pedals have a single and restrictive tone knob. They either only allow you to roll-off

some of the highs, or they allow you to choose between more bass/more treble, without allowing you to retain your midrange frequencies. The tone circuitry in the Torsion gives you the classic mid-scooped tones you love, but it also allows you to flatten or boost the mids so you don't get lost in the mix! With the midrange set to 9 o'clock or above, the TILT control allows you to attenuate just the highs without giving you an unusably dark tone, or to just attenuate the lows while still sounding full. Get all the tones, not just a fraction of them!

  • Gain

When I buy a fuzz, I want it to be a fuzz... Not an overdrive. For this reason, I designed the GAIN knob to function more as a 'fine-tune' than a coarse adjustment. Start at 100% and dial back to taste. It's super fuzzy across its whole range, but you can tame it down if you must. This knob also functions interactively with the GATE knob to give you a wide range of sputtery/voltage-starved/velcro-type tones.

Volume/output buffer

You know what a volume knob does. I also built in an output buffer with proper 10k ohm impedance to ensure it can drive your next pedal or amplifier-input without any of the finicky issues that other fuzz pedals are known for

Circuit Board:

Durable printed circuit board, built to last.

Special note:

This pedal contains a power-hungry IC. For this reason, a battery clip is not included. Standard center-negative 9V (and ONLY 9V) power-supply required.

This pedal thinks you're cute.
