This custom build Suhr Modern is an amazing guitar. It doesn't just look the part, tone and playability are incredible! Under that sexy metallic black finish lurks a sleek paulownia (AKA empresswood) body with a maple top. Paulownia has a sound that falls somewhere between alder & sugar pine in the tonal spectrum- it's clear and defined but not thin. Paulownia has been popping up on the radar as an alternative tone wood over the last several years because it has a familiar sound but also tends to be very light. This guitar tips the scale at 6 pounds 3 ounces. Between the feather weight and its ergonomic shape this is a super comfortable guitar to wear for extended periods. The maple top helps focus the low end and extend the highs so the note fundamentals are strong and crisp.

The roasted maple neck has the Modern Eliptical .800-.850 back shape with a 1.625" nut width, 10-14" compound fingerboard radius and 24 jumbo stainless steel frets. The neck profile is a real crowd pleaser too; there's almost no physio playing this guitar so you can take your mind off the mechanics and flow. The fit, finish, attention to detail and set-up are all flawless. 

The high output Doug Aldrich humbuckers are hot but not over the top. They have a full articulate sound; never muddy or screechy. This guitar will do all the classic rock & modern blues tones all the way through to shred and fusion with aplomb. It's not shy or retiring- it's got good muscle with plenty of cut so it will never disappear in the mix. A silky smooth Gotoh 510 tremolo and locking tuners keep it in tune. Hardshell case is included.
