Fender Custom Shop 59 Telecaster Relic - Aged Sherwood Metallic

By the late 1950s, the Telecaster had firmly established its reputation as the premier workhorse guitar, but for the player seeking a guitar with the versatility of a Tele and a more distinct personality, the choices were few and far between. Enter the Telecaster Custom, which debuted in 1959, sporting an elegant double-bound body and alluring rosewood fingerboard – both firsts for the Telecaster. The Vintage Custom 1959 Telecaster Custom boasts the same refined look as the original, along with some rare and compelling features from the Tele's formative years that we felt modern players and vintage tone hounds alike would appreciate - most notably an aged Relic to amplify the Sherwood Green metallic finish. 

It comes equipped with hand-wound Tele Texas Special single coil at the neck. The neck is a quarter-sawn medium tint maple '59 Esquire CC with a 9.5" radius.  It also features Narrow Tall frets with Micarta black face and side dots. Vintage tuning machines take you from the striking headstock across a 3-ply pickguard to the Telecaster 60 Gatton bridge.

Comes with original Fender Custom Shop hard shell case in tweed, as well as a Custom Shop strap, certificate of authenticity, Shop Floor Traveler and "ashtray" bridge cover.
