The Boss BC-1X is Boss' next generation multiband bass compressor based around Boss' signature MDP (multi-dimensional processing) technology.  While a typical compressor will operate on your entire signal uniformly, a multiband compressor intelligently divides your different frequency sections and compresses each frequency band differently for an even sound and feel up and down the neck.  Often times compressors can be hard to adjust properly, especially with bass signals.  The BC-1X takes care of that for you, giving you 4 easy to use and intuitive controls with which to dial in your sound.  Level controls output volume, while Release tells you how quickly or slowly the compressor will stop compressing once it latches on.  Ratio sets the  amount of compression, and Threshold controls the sensitivity, or how hard you have to play before compression kicks in.  A built in LED gain-reduction meter gives you a live feed of the amount of compression applied to your signal.  Thanks to the BC-1X it's now easier than ever to get a smooth, even bass sound.  Come try one today!
