"Black Volt Guitars, like our amplifiers, are all made from mostly reclaimed wood dating from the last one to two hundred years, honoring the tones found in our favorite guitars from the Golden Age of guitar production, the 1940's to the 1960's.

Each and every guitar is unique and tells it's own special story depending on the age, origination and species of wood used in it's construction.

We use woods from downed Southern Hay Barns, Tennessee Tobacco drying barns, California Sequoia Redwoods ( some salvaged from home siding withstanding decades of weather), Southern California Pine from old home construction, Hollywood bowl seats of Alaskan Yellow Cedar, Spruce and much more. 

We try to learn as much as possible about the unique woods we find and document that information in order to be passed on to it's future owner.

Salvaging and re using old wood is not only good for our planet, but improves the tone and stability of the instrument.
