Pre-Owned Vintage Gibson L-50 F-Hole Archtop Acoustic Guitar

Here's a rare bird indeed.  This is a Gibson L-50 which, to our best estimate, was produced sometime in between 1934 and 1937. We were unable to find an FON number on this guitar so we can't get an exact date.

She's got quite the voice. Chords are nice and warm in the open position and retain weight all the way up the neck. Single notes grab hold quickly and bloom nicely. The neck fills the palm of the hand nicely without ever feeling too big.  This guitar comes with a non-original hard case.

As the guitar is over 80 years old, it has had some work done. There have been multiple crack repairs which have all been inspected by our in house luthier and all appear to be stable. The tuners, while period correct, are not original to the guitar. The truss rod cover and tailpiece have been replaced as well. The black light revealed that the guitar has not had a neck re-set or a re-fin.

The frets also appear to be original and have very little wear on them. The neck is nice and straight and the truss rod has plenty of room in either direction. There is a small divot in the fingerboard by the third fret which can be seen in the pictures, as well as a small break on the treble side of the nut which is also visible.

As always, this guitar ships fully insured with signature required.
