Vintage Gibson L5-CES 1973 -  Sunburst

The Gibson L5-CES from 1973 in Sunburst is a true classic in the world of jazz guitars. First introduced in 1922, the L5-CES quickly became a favorite among jazz guitarists and has been played by some of the most legendary jazz musicians of all time, including Charlie Christian, Les Paul, and Wes Montgomery. With its signature design and premium construction, the L5-CES is a testament to the craftsmanship and innovation that Gibson is known for.

We believe this guitar to be almost entirely original, with the only unconfirmed specifications being the bridge, saddle and hard shell case. The pot codes would indicate a 1973 build. It is currently strung with D'Addario EJ21 XL Nickel strings with a wound third.

This L-5 is in good condition for its age and has undergone a full professional inspection and setup from our certified in-house luthier. The neck is nice and straight and fits comfortably in the hand. Fretwear is light given the year. Cosmetically, there is a moderate amount of all-over wear to the finish at the top, back and sides of the body, neck, and headstock as well as wear to the hardware, all of which can be seen in photos.

As always, this guitar ships fully insured with signature required.
