Oregon Concertina CE Myrtlewood-Myrtlewood

The new Oregon Concertina CE is a body size smaller than the award-winning Concert model, delivering surprising projection and more nuanced notes from the smaller Concertina body shape. Engineered for a light play style, this acoustic-electric guitar has become a favorite of players around the world. The Breedlove sound comes through bold and clean with balanced bass, mids, and highs reminiscent of rosewood. Engineered to perfection, this guitar is ideal for strumming and rhythm while equally suited for light and delicate fingerstyle play. The Oregon Myrtlewood Series With its hypnotic, variegated color patterns and unique sonic clarity, melding, somehow, the best aspects of rosewood, mahogany and maple, myrtlewood would qualify as one of the great exotic tonewoods. But its native! It grows gnarled, strong and beautiful on Oregon's rainy, windswept Pacific coast, just 90 miles from Bend. Breedlove, in fact, led the charge in using myrtle for fine guitars, and that proud lineage continues with the best-selling Oregon series. Denser than Sitka spruce, myrtlewood, as a result of Sound Optimization can be planed and sanded even thinner, releasing more energy for a balanced profile alive with bass, midrange and treble in equal measure. Now available in all four revolutionary Breedlove body styles, and with contemporary soft cutaways, each Oregon series guitar in Cinnamon Burst, Bourbon Burst or Natural finish is equipped with LR Baggs EAS VTC electronics and comes with a deluxe Breedlove hardshell case. Sustainable & Clear-Cut Free Breedlove uses no clear-cut woods in its Made in Bend models. It's that simple. Featuring sustainably sourced all solid exotic and native tonewoods handcrafted by skilled luthiers who are as sensitive to the needs of the earth as they are to building the best sounding and playing guitars available anywhere.

Concertina Body Shape

Breedloves distinctive small body guitar delivers a surprisingly clear, crisp sound, and its short scale 12-fret design makes it a joy to play. Extensive Custom Shop engineering and experimentation has resulted in a modern shape that has a bigger sound and a more comfortable profile than a traditional parlor model. Myrtlewood Top, Back & Sides Popularized by Breedlove, myrtlewood, from the windblown Oregon coast, combines the best elements of rosewood, mahogany and maple, rich bass, warm midrange and clear, bright trebles for truly versatile guitars. Each sonically distinct instrument is individualized by the gnarled, wildly varied, but always arresting grain patterns.

Sound Optimization® & Hand Voicing

Why do Breedlove guitars sound so good? It's simple, Breedlove guitars are made with care, with the goal of allowing you to play better, sound better and play more. But it's also complex, with art, inspiration, craft and science merging together in a process we call Sound Optimization®. These models are hand voiced, with experienced luthiers meticulously tapping, listening and shaving away tiny curls of exquisite tonewood as they target specific, measurable frequencies that will make each unique, individual instrument sound its very best. The tone wood species are carefully milled, weighed and considered, with backs and tops specifically tuned to each other to create light, responsive guitars with superior tone and sustain.

The Breedlove Neck

Breedlove guitar necks feature a slimmer neck profile, which enables comfortable play, even with smaller hands. Unlike traditional dovetail neck joints that require major surgery for a neck re-set, it is easy to adjust the play action and neck angle with the Breedlove bolt-on neck and single-action truss rod. The hand-rubbed, semi-gloss Breedlove neck finish contributes to ideal playability and the finish process alone takes three days, including precise finish coat applications, fine sanding, and hand buffing and rubbing.
