Drop Top Classic offers its eye popping gifts accompanied with the class of a classic pickguard, hence the name Drop Top Classic. But its name not only denotes a look rooted in tradition but in its intrinsic sound as well. Yes, this classy guarded guitar not only delivers classic good looks but the anatomy of the actual pickguard itself creates a more "Classic" tone, a tone to certainly please a connoisseur of the classics.

Drop Top Classic announces itself with a radiant quilted maple top that is actually bent (or "dropped") over a carefully chosen tone wood body create a smooth and comfortable, swooping forearm contour, and it does it all in keeping with the traditional of pickguard styling. Since 1991 Drop Top Classic has been the fancy, classic "S" to own. Before this time nothing like it existed. You could say, it was an inspired revelation that started a joyous revolution, of guitars that is. But we certainly could not stop there. Though the years, as we began to unlock the secrets of Drop Top tonalities and the vast richness lying within, we applied this depth of understanding to the realm of the Drop Top Classic.

The pickups:

SC1 - The most musical S size single coil, hum-canceling, pickups ever heard—a real breakthrough—even richer than real vintage coils with equal effervescence, highlighted by sweet, soft and lush highs.

HC3 - Within the sanctuary of a sleek and smooth cover beats the heart of a vintage lion. Mild to medium to hot output, HCs sing with a wonderful vintage flavored voice, depicted by focused midrange energy and enlightened by extremely musical upper-mids and seasoned with sweet, soft and soothing highs.

All Anderson guitars are equipped with the Buzz Feiten Design Tuning System. The Feiten system is primarily a visually undetectable structural neck change in combination with slightly altered bridge intonation offsets. It allows your guitar to tune more accurately than you have ever experienced before. The most noticeable benefit is that chords sound more in tune with each other. The method shown below is a slightly more precise method of tuning which will allow you to take full advantage of this new technology. But don't worry, even if you tune using your old standard way, your guitar will still tune and play more accurately than ever before.

This model boasts an Even-Taper neck profile - Anderson's most popular neck profile for 25 1/2-inch scale length guitars - a sleek and fast silhouette with not a lot of depth change from the nut to the 12th fret. As your hand slides to the upper frets, playing feel and depth remain relatively the same.
