Gibson Custom Shop 1960 Les Paul Standard - Amber Burst VOS with Nickel Aged Hardware

It was no small feat for this guitar to come to fruition - we at Five Star Guitars were understandably enamored when we saw a photo of an Amber Burst top and thought, "that's exactly what we need." We flew all the way to Nashville to hand select tops from hundreds of options to bring you our very own limited run of this total stunner. 

We wanted something unique. Something off-menu. Something amazing. The handpicked top is the icing on the cake, but the singularity only begins there. 

Inspired by a re-issue of Eric Clapton's beloved "Beano" in that remarkable burst, we worked with Gibson to piece together this beauty. A one-piece mahogany body is capped with a two-piece maple top with cream binding, leading to a 1960 Reissue Slim Taper neck profile of mahogany and an Indian Rosewood fretboard. 

We opted for the VOS finish - Gibson’s process is to hand-spray several layers of genuine nitrocellulose lacquer and follow it with a proprietary hand-buffing to create a gently aged patina.  We went off-menu to include gold Top Hat knobs to round out the glowy, golden era aesthetic. 

To further the distinctiveness, we went for Zebra Custombuckers (which are only available new from the Custom Shop) with two included removable covers to outfit the bridge and neck. Remove one cover or both to customize even further! Versatility is the Custombucker calling card – warm, smooth, bright, articulate… the sky is the limit with tonal control.

We rounded it all out with nickel aged hardware, true historic cream pickguard, switch washer and mounting, an amber switch tip and Kluson Double Ring heads for extra stability in tuning. 

Comes with the original Gibson Custom Shop hardshell case, inspection sheet and warranty, original hangtags, certificate of authenticity and spare backplate, as can be seen in photos.
