For decades fuzz freaks have been militantly dedicated to powering their pedals exclusively with old school carbon-zinc 9V batteries, global warming be damned.  This is because batteries put out varying voltages as they wear down, giving you a wide range of different tones.  Luckily, the folks at MXR have taken notice, and they went ahead and stuck a dedicated voltage control (labeled Variac after the mythical voltage control device for amplifiers and other high wattage units) right on the top of a fuzz pedal so you can get all the sounds you want without having to burn your battery down and worry about it dying on you.

Fuzz pedals are pretty self explanatory, and this one is no different.  It features the classic 3 controls for Output volume, Tone, and Gain (Fuzz) that you know and love, but adds the new Variac control for variable voltage adjustment.  This control allows you to take this pedal from the standard 9V operation all the way down to 5V for nasty, sputtery, dying battery type fuzz tones while boosting it up to as high as 15V gives you extra definition and headroom.  By balancing these 4 controls you can open yourself up to a huge variety of fuzz and distortion sounds.  If you're looking for a fuzz pedal that does more than just one sound then the Super Badass Variac Fuzz is just what you need.  Come try one today and fuzz it up!
