This is a pre-owned vintage 1965 Fender Spring Reverb unit, Black Tolex Model 6G15, serial number 808241 as is embossed on the chassis and sports the original two-prong power cable. This unit is a vacuum tube spring reverb equipped model originally introduced in 1961, discontinued by 1966 to be replaced by a solid state model.
This unit features three controls - Dwell, Mixer and Tone and includes a vintage 12AT7 preamp tube, a vintage 6k6 tube as the reverb driver and a vintage 12AZ7 as the reverb recovery tube. The rectifier is a diode-type solid state unit. The circuit board is a hand-wired eyelet board. The tank is stamped 6430 and VF0865. The chassis is stamped B0965. Transformer - 11A-606-637, POT - 70-2125-0550 250k, LIN - 304-6501.
The tube chart has been torn away almost entirely, but a "Production #1" stamp is still visible.
The unit has had 3 electrolytic caps replaced as well as one flathead screw and three Philips head screws. Overall, the unit works as described and is in good condition for its age, showing some moderate aging to the tolex and grille as can be seen in photos.
