1984 Marshall JCM800 2205 50-watt tube head. This is a cosmetically clean & remarkably ferocious sounding example of Marshall’s first channel switching tube amp. A lot of 2205s & 2210s sound a bit anemic but this one certainly doesn’t. Although the caps had been previously replaced we installed an OEM LCR cap in place of a leaky aftermarket unit and the amp really came alive. Crisp response & thick chunk all the way. The wiring is very cleanly laid out inside & there are no mods. The reverb works fine. Tubes are in good shape and bias is correct. 800s are getting harder to find & more expensive all the time so this one represents a good value on a solid amp. Includes later Marshall footswitch.
