In the whimsical world of JHS pedals, where you'll find unicorns, penguins, panthers, rats, bears, and cheeseballs, there's one stompbox with a backstory that rivals them all – the Solo Boost.
A Tale of Mystery and Delay
Travel back to the distant year of 2018, the year when JHS embarked on a journey to release the Solo Boost. Initially planned for a 1,000-unit release, the pedal's fate took a peculiar twist, and today, we're left with just 817 units. What happened to the other 183? Did they slip into another dimension, Stranger Things style? Were they casualties of a Marie Kondo-inspired spring cleaning spree? The answers remain elusive, but our story must go on.
With the Solo Boost, simplicity reigns supreme. It boasts only two controls:
Volume/Gain Knob: This prominent, fiery-red knob dictates the volume or gain of the boost. Crank it up, and your signal gets louder, free from added distortion. Its clean, high-powered boost serves as a canvas for sculpting your tone and even pushing your amp into glorious overdrive.
Boost Circuit Switch: A diminutive switch on the pedal's side lets you toggle between two boost circuits. The FET boost mirrors the famed Keeley Katana, while the classic op amp style boost (similar to the MXR Micro Amp or the beloved Klon) offers the option to crank the volume for signal enhancement without distortion.
This pedal works nicely as intended and is in very good condition, exhibiting only very gentle external wear as can be seen in photos. Box is included.
