Boss Waza Craft HM-2W Heavy Metal

Boss HM-2 Waza Craft Heavy Metal

Boss HM-2W Heavy Metal: A Legend Returns

The Boss HM-2W Waza Craft Heavy Metal Pedal brings back the iconic sound that defined Swedish death metal. Produced from 1983 to 1991, the original HM-2 Heavy Metal pedal is legendary for its signature chainsaw tone with all knobs maxed. After years of requests from hardcore fans, the HM-2 is reborn in this special Waza Craft edition, delivering the authentic analog sound of the original with modern refinements for enhanced performance.

Standard Mode: The Original HM-2 Sound

In Standard mode, the HM-2W faithfully reproduces the tone and response of the original HM-2 pedal. BOSS has made some modern improvements without affecting the sound, including reducing the noise floor and expanding the maximum level by 3 dB. The premium Waza Craft buffer improves the sound when the pedal is bypassed. Cranking every knob all the way up gives you the classic sound of Swedish death metal, while the sensitive distortion and color controls allow for a wide range of tones for other styles.

Get Even More Aggressive with Custom Mode

The HM-2W’s Custom mode offers a similar sound character to Standard mode, but with a bit more of everything. The drive stage provides more gain and includes more of the fundamental guitar sound for extra attack and sharpness. Additionally, the low and high-mid characteristics have been tweaked to provide increased fullness and definition, giving you a more aggressive sound variation with special Waza Craft tuning.

Orange and Black is Back

The HM-2W not only brings back the original sound but also captures the distinctive orange and black appearance of the original pedal, right down to the size and position of the lettering on the panel. The mode switch for extended range has been moved to the top to preserve the authentic control layout of the HM-2. This attention to detail ensures that the HM-2W looks and feels like the classic pedal that defined a genre.
