2009 Gibson SmartWood Les Paul Studio in Natural Ash

This line of eco-friendly guitars was introduced in 1996, making Gibson the very first guitar company to offer a SmartWood guitar. Today’s Les Paul SmartWood Studio captures the look, feel and tone of Gibson’s iconic Les Paul model without sacrificing any of its traditional features.

The neck is made from mahogany, crafted with Gibson’s traditional ’50s rounded profile. A newly designed truss rod cover features a green floating leaf, the official logo of the SmartWood series. 

This pre-owned model features a natural ash body, mahogany neck and rosewood fingerboard with white dot inlays, as well as a double humbucker configuration with a tune-o-matic bridge. 

This guitar is in great playing shape and has undergone a full setup and inspection from our in-house luthier. The neck is nice and straight, fits comfortably in the hand and exhibits only light to moderate fretwear.

Cosmetically the guitar does have some imperfections - there is some discoloration to the natural wood in several areas, gentle playwear on the face, knobs and switchwasher, some light scratching on the face near the input jack, a small ding in the back of the neck and some light scratching on the headstock, all of which can be seen in photos. The hardshell case included also exhibits some discoloration to its lining (also pictured.)
